Summary

The Mercedes-Benz ML 450 CDI was one of the most powerful diesel SUVs on the market at the time, using the legendary V8 4.0L twin-turbo diesel engine (OM629). With a torque of 700 Nm, it offered decent performance for a sports car (0-100 km/h in 7 seconds) regardless of weight. However, the OM629 engine is known for its reliability problems, especially with Turbo Actuators and oil leaks around oil coolers and injectors (nozzles). This was a high-end model, certified to the Euro 4 emissions standard.
